Mark Flanagan, LCSW, MPH, MA, RYT-200
Therapist, Researcher, Entrepreneur, and Advocate
About Mark
I am a therapist, researcher, entrepreneur, and advocate for innovative approaches to mental health care. With over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field, Mark is passionate about integrating traditional therapeutic methods with novel, accessible practices to meet the diverse needs of today’s clients. His clinical approach blends evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Brainspotting, with a focus on mindfulness and somatic healing techniques.
Mark's holistic approach to therapy emphasizes the mind-body connection and the importance of integrating somatic awareness into the therapeutic process. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), he incorporates mindfulness practices into his sessions, helping clients foster greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. His work is rooted in a strong belief in making therapy accessible, and he offers services both in-person and virtually, allowing clients to access support in a way that best fits their needs.
From Mark’s Practice
Mark is particularly focused on creating community-based programs that support mental and emotional wellness. His vision includes developing a garden or horticultural therapy program that leverages evidence-based practices and new technology while fostering a community-driven environment for healing. Mark envisions a space where nature and social connection combine to promote well-being, providing individuals and groups with a holistic environment to grow, heal, and thrive. Through this, he aims to create a model of therapy that is not only individualized but also rooted in collective healing and support.
In addition to his clinical work, Mark offers supervision for Master's level clinicians seeking guidance in their path to LCSW licensure. He takes great pride in mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals, providing individualized support to foster growth, leadership, and confidence in their clinical practice.
